tradition of many centuries, which deserves special mention for the notoriety that has been evidence of the Estremadura Regional Wine. It is a wine with geographical indication, and that is, through the possibility of use a wider range of varieties of grapes, allows it to as hold the designation of Denomination of Controlled Origin (DOC), from Arruda, Alenquer, Óbidos and Torres Vedras, all produced in the western region. The Wine Route begins in Nazaré, towards Quinta do Sanguinhal, seeking to meet both the fun and the techniques used in the production, being addressed: the socio-cultural environment and history of the farms in the region, the determinants factors of the quality of wine produced, the main techniques of professional wine tasting from the wine produced in the three farms. Despite the extension of the points mentioned above, the visit will not be conducted by conventional methods, or it would be tiring, but instead it will stimulate the spirit of discovery and experimentation, as well to give visitors an alternative to the usual routes. The program includes visits to the gardens of the XIX century, and the vineyards of Quinta do Sanguinhal: visit to an old distillery with 300m2, fully recovered where it was previously produced, wine spirits and “bagaceira”, white brandy, visit to an old winery with rod mill presses, dated 1871, and a visit to an aging wine seller with 36 barrels. The visit has the duration of 1h30m, and includes wine tasting (2 white wines, 1 rosé wine, 3 red wine, 1 sweet wine, 1 old spirits, toast, cheese and cookies regional traditional).
