This route starts at Sítio da Nazaré, next to the "Ermida" and the "Bico da Memória", which was placed in 1939, in celebration of the arrival of Admiral Vasco da Gama to Nazaré, the "Padrão de Vasco da Gama". We then visit the Nossa Senhora da Nazaré Sanctuary, which was built in 1377 to hold the sacred image and to host the large number of pilgrims that visit the Sanctuary every year. Today is a magnificent monument, with two tall towers, where the highlights, in the interior, is the "Altar-Mor". It consists of a painting of gilt, with salomon columns and applications of marble. In the gallery, there’s a large painting which portraits the miracle of the appearance of the Nossa Senhora da Nazaré to D. Fuas Roupinho. We continue and visit the "Teatro Chaby Pinheiro", an Italian theater, with its romantic type from the beginning of the twentieth century. The author of the project was the architect Ernesto Korrodi, in 1908. The theater was opened with pomp and circumstance, on the 5 February 1926, in the presence of famous actor Chaby Pinheiro, who named it.
